Meet Alex!
My name is Alex Kamkar, I have worked in the land development in Greater Houston for almost 10 years. My wife Nikki, and I moved from Houston to Pearland in June 2017. We were moving from a City of Houston dotted with potholes, high taxes, and terrible traffic to a place with good infrastructure, low taxes, and a lot of opportunity.
Soon after moving to Pearland, 60 days to be exact, we, like everyone else, were trapped in our house watching Hurricane Harvey dump an estimated 34 trillion gallons of water. Without question, Harvey had a traumatizing effect on our family and many others. We mucked out friend’s houses, donated items, and know people still rebuilding to this day, years later.
In the aftermath of Harvey, we saw public servants leverage Hurricane Harvey as an issue to advance their agenda while doing nothing to protect us from the next big storm. Unfortunately, too many have used this tragic event to blame others to hide their failings as public servants. Instead of sitting by and waiting for results, i threw my name in the hat and ran in November 2020 for City council. I won a four person contest for the right to serve you, the citizens and we rolled up our sleeves and went to work.
We have made progress on some key issues, however there is still more work to do for our families and business. For that very reason, I’ve announced my intent to seek re-election for Pearland City Council, Position 3 in May 2023.
As a member of Pearland’s City Council, I will continue to passionately advocate on your behalf:
- To stop ever increasing property taxes.
- Increase public safety
- Promote public infrastructure projects to protect Pearland families from the next disaster.
- Demand the highest levels of accountability and transparency for the citizens of Pearland
I believe in responsible government at a reasonable cost, public infrastructure that protects families, and economic opportunity is key for the next generation.
If you believe like me that Pearland is a great community, I’m asking for your support. I need your help to ensure Pearland continues to thrive and remains a a great place to live, work and raise a family.
Yours in Democracy,
Alex Kamkar
